小惑星内部の空洞に酸素を満たす微生物の多様な進化の秘密を調べていたグループが、その生物の有害性をめぐり対立。自らの出世のためこの生物の危険性を誇張し小惑星破壊を主張する男(悪役設定）と、科学的真実、小惑星帯での生活圏の拡大のために自らの命を賭して真相を突き止めようとする女科学者（主人公、善役設定）の対立ストーリーで、普通に楽しめる。</p>

これもいまいち。うまい料理を作るために遺伝子操作等で作った未承認食材を使っていたレストランが摘発され「最後の晩餐｣となるという話で、全然面白くない。</div>

手脚を失った人にクローン培養した手脚を提供するとうたう医療サービスの内幕を暴いていく探偵の話。アイデアは凡庸かもしれないが小説としてよく出来ていると思う。面白い。<br>

さまざまな惑星を遍歴しては本を書いて暮らしている男が、ある惑星で「フィッシャーキング」の娘に恋をし、そこに実をうずめる決心をする。外人はどうしてこうもフィッシャーキングネタが好きなのか？　日本人には受けない話だろうな。<br></div>

異星種族もの。神の神殿に子供たちを集め、＜落雷による神託＞で国を治めている世界で、子供たちが神の不在を暴き、世界を変えるというような話。<br></div>

捕らえられ拷問を受けていた物理学者が未来から来た女に助けられる。この物理学者はレントゲンなどを発明し活躍。魂の存在を信じ機械には魂がないと主張する反科学主義的な男と対立、公開討論で論駁。女は別の人物の歴史に干渉するため去る。魂存在論者の男は、タイムマシンでやってきた自分に「なくなった妻のいる世界へ連れて行く」と言われるが、これを拒否し自らの信念を貫く。量子レベルの不確定性原理的な多様な歴史の存在と、マクロなレベルでの意識の同一性は両立しうるし、過去に干渉してもタイムパラドックスは起こらず、量子レベルの多様な（しかし全体として一定の限界があり有限である）歴史、事象の間を揺れ動くだけである、というような架空の理論に基づいて造形された時間もの・量子力学・数学SF。理論ディテールは結構厳密で難解だが、理解できなくても物語として十分楽しめる作品。</div>

異星を舞台にしたファンタジーの出だしから、宇宙全体を視野にいれた壮大な本格SFへ。それもそのはず"Bios"というSF長編の続編だそうだ。これも読んでみたい。<br>

記憶の乱れは脳の問題ではなく、現実に過去が変更されているためであるというアイデアを理論的に突き詰めた作品。酒場での科学者の会話というスタイルからとんでもない壮大な話になる。不良の息子を「いないことにしてしまった」というオチも決まっているし、傑作。<br></div>
